About Dr. LaToya Flowers-Roe

Dr. LaToya concentrates on strengthening couple and familial bonds, repairing relationship wounds, and breaking destructive generational patterns of interaction. She does so by using a positive, brief therapeutic approach to provide long lasting change in as short a time as possible. She strives to create a safe, nurturing environment for her clients by expressing genuine warmth, care, and concern. She wholeheartedly believes her clients can and will accomplish their therapeutic goals.

Currently, she splits her time between working in private practice and working as an online professor and Clinical Training Director at Seattle University. As a result, her availability for sessions during the academic year tends to be limited to one or two days per week. However, she is available to clients for consultation throughout the week.

Dr. LaToya received her B. S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She received a M.A. in Counseling with a specialization in marriage and families as well as a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Governors State University in University Park, IL. She teaches graduate level courses in counseling as a member of the core faculty at Seattle University. She continues to author various publications regarding wellness; frequently presents at professional mental health conferences; and was the recipient of the 2022-23 North Central Association of Counselor Education & Supervision Outstanding Diversity Award. In her free time, she enjoys long walks and watching movies with her family.
